About
Alexandros (Alex) Georgolios, M.D., is an otolaryngologist (head & neck surgeon) with subspecialty training in facial plastic & reconstructive surgery. He is dual board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed a five year residency in otolaryngology - head & neck surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He also completed an American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery accredited fellowship at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat/Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
Dr. Georgolios is a solo practitioner in an extensive geographic area in Southeast Missouri and enjoys a diverse scope of practice in the entire spectrum of his specialty. This includes general & pediatric ENT, chronic rhinosinusitis, general head & neck surgery and airway emergencies. His subspecialty knowledge focuses on nasal form and function/functional and esthetic rhinoplasty, otoplasty, reconstruction of skin malignancies of the head & neck, facial nerve paralysis and rehabilitation.
Additionally to a busy clinical practice, Dr. Georgolios enjoys teaching and currently holds the title of clinical assistant professor of otolaryngology at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, acting as preceptor for medical students in the rotations of otolaryngology - head & neck surgery, and serves as adjunct clinical faculty in Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has a background in research in his field, having completed pre-residency research fellowships at the Massachusetts Eye Ear Infirmary and the Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Georgolios is a native of Athens, Greece, and earned a medical degree in the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He immigrated to the United States in 2006 to pursue postgraduate studies and residency training. He speaks fluently Greek and French. He is happily married and has one daughter.
